Doménica I. Noboa Ramos M.A.

PhD Student | Mobilität und Segregation

Since March 2026, I have been a Research Associate at the Leibniz Institute for European History in the subproject Religion and Ethnicity: Transatlantic Mobility and Human Differentiation in Colonial Hispanic America.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Historical and Cultural Tourism from the Universidad Central del Ecuador and a Master's degree in World Heritage Studies from the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg.

My professional background combines research and practice. Academically, my work has been situated in the fields of environmental humanities and historical research, often complementing each other. The latter has focused on Latin American colonial societies, particularly colonial education systems and religious missions. Additionally, I have been involved in educational programs of museums and cultural centers in Quito's historic center.

During my studies, I engaged with postcolonial theories, intersectionality, and discourses on cultural heritage. My research interests focus on questions of identity, belonging, and collective memory, especially in the context of colonial societies, which I examine through the lenses of such theoretical approaches.
