Research Associate

Since October 2023, I have been a research associate at the Collaborative Research Center Human Differentiation, where I support both the theory project and central project management. Previously, I worked in the Department of Gender Studies and Sociological Theory at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (2015–2020) and at the Research Training Group Doing Transitions at Goethe University Frankfurt (2020–2023).

In my ongoing dissertation project (since 2017), I conduct ethnographic research on the end of life in the context of inpatient hospice care. From the perspectives of the CRC, one might ask, for instance, which forms of difference are constituted in hospice care and how they are negotiated (e.g., when people are in the acute dying phase and the end of life is imminent), or how abstract ideals such as “human dignity” are expressed in hospice practices, for example rituals surrounding the care and presentation of the deceased. Moreover, I greatly value the interdisciplinary exchange that the CRC fosters in various constellations and with regard to different research foci.
