Sophie Blomen M.A.

Sophie Blomen studied Performing Arts (B.A.) Staging the Arts and Media (M.A.) at the University of Hildesheim. After completing her studies, she workes as a curator for the Performing Exiles Festival at the Berliner Festspiele and in various constellations within the independent theater scene. Since 2026, she has been a research associate in the project "Theater in Competition: Diversity as a Criterion for Cultural Funding" at the CRC on Human Differentiation, where she is collaborating with Stefanie Husel to investigate how human differentiation and the assessment of artistic quality interact in the context of competition for funding.
As part of her doctoral research, she is exploring the poetics of funding calls and the aesthetic relationship between the call for proposals and the production.
